Travel Guides · From Our Knowledge
Plan smarter, from people who know
Short, honest guides written from on-ground experience — the kind of advice we give our own guests.
Best time for the Golden Triangle
Delhi, Agra and Jaipur shine from October to March — cool mornings for forts, clear Taj Mahal sunrises. April–June is hot but crowd-free and cheaper; July–September brings monsoon colour and lush Rajasthan.
- See the Taj at sunrise, not midday
- Keep Jaipur's bazaars for late afternoon
- One night in Agra beats a rushed day trip
Ladakh, without the altitude shock
Leh sits above 3,500 m. Our rule for every guest: first 24 hours, complete rest in Leh — no excursions, lots of water. Then Sham Valley, and only then Pangong or the high passes.
- Fly in, don't drive up on day one if short on time
- May–September is the road season
- Buffer one spare day — mountains set the schedule
Varanasi, respectfully
India's oldest living city rewards slow travellers. Take the sunrise boat for the ghats, walk the old lanes with a local guide, and attend the evening Ganga Aarti from the water.
- Ask before photographing rituals & cremation ghats
- Dress modestly near temples & mosques
- Pair with Sarnath, where Buddha first taught
e-Visa mistakes to avoid
Three errors delay more India trips than anything else: applying on a look-alike website, uploading a blurry passport photo, and arriving on the wrong visa type for group or conference travel.
- Use only the official government e-Visa portal
- Apply at least a week before departure
- Carry a printed copy of your approval (ETA)
What to pack for India
Light cotton layers for the plains, one warm layer for trains, flights and Himalayan evenings, modest clothing for temples, and comfortable walking shoes — forts reward them.
- A scarf/shawl — useful everywhere
- Power adapter: India uses Type C/D/M plugs
- Leave room — Jaipur & Delhi bazaars are tempting
